The Rauti Beaded Maxi Dress was showcased at A Chain of Women during London Fashion Week SS25, paying tribute to women’s ancestry through intricate craftsmanship. This piece celebrates FARM Rio’s enduring partnership with the Yawanawa women, and I am honored to have contributed by designing and coloring the beaded fringes, meticulously handcrafted by artisans Laurita, Meyu, Marilene, Chaga, and Mariasuzana in Rio Gregório, Acre, Brazil.

Drawing inspiration from the Yawanawa’s traditional jewelry, symbols like the snake and butterfly reflect their vibrant culture and heritage. These beaded elements not only honor the past but also symbolize the future of the Yawanawa community, reimagining “rauti” as adornments of beauty and protection.

A Chain of Women was part of Brazil: Creating Fashion for Tomorrow at SS25 London Fashion Week, an event that spotlighted the incredible women shaping sustainable fashion. It highlighted female empowerment and sisterhood, focusing on how women from low-income communities collaborate to improve the lives of hundreds of families through their artistry.
